Swimming Pool Update – 1st July 2020
Now the laws around COVID-19 and the use of the pools have been relaxed, the administrator is implementing the measures required for us to open the swimming pools. The date of opening will be announced soon.
In the meantime, we feel it is important to point out using the pool this year will be very different. We have to comply not only with our community rules but also with the new Spanish laws associated with COVID-19 and the use of pools. Full details will be sent and there will be new signage around the pools. Briefly this is the way it will work:
There will not be pool guards
There will be fencing and a one way in/out system of the pools and paved area around the pools
There will be a limit on the number of people using the pools at any one time to ensure social distancing
All areas must be cleaned a minimum of twice a day – it may be necessary to close the pools for a period during the day so this can be carried out
All measures are in the interests of everyone’s safety and are in place to minimise the risks associated with Covid-19. Please remember this has not gone away!!
We would like to thank everyone for their patience and respect of the pool closure rules. We request and hope that everyone, whether owners, family or renters, who may be planning to visit El Divino will continue to show the same respect when the pools are re-opened. If you do rent out your property PLEASE emsure your tenants are aware of the restrcitions when they book
As we have not been able to hold an AGM/EGM, then the decision to open/close the pool has to fall to the president/vice president of the community. As vice president, my view is, if as a community we cannot abide by the Spanish laws relating to the use of the pool, I would rather make the unpopular decision to re-close the pool completely than risk an outbreak of Covid-19 in the community.
It’s everyone’s responsibility to follow the rules to ensure fair and safe use of the pools.
Finally, we would also like to inform you there will be some outside building work in progress over the summer. I know this is not usually allowed but the work is an urgent health and safety issue which was delayed due to lockdown and the working restrictions here. We apologise in advance for the inconvenience and disturbance this may cause.
Richard – vice president
